Hi, I’m Andrea — the person behind this site.
I’m not a licensed therapist, counselor, or social worker, and I want to be upfront about that. What I am is someone who’s actually lived this: I was a single parent for about 15 years, and I also grew up with divorced parents myself, including the experience of a parent living farther away and not being part of my daily life as much as I would have liked.
That combination — living it as a parent, and having lived it as a kid — is what shapes how I write here. I try to speak honestly to both sides of the experience, not just the parenting logistics.
Every article on this site is checked against current, credible sources before it’s published.
What you can expect here
- Honest, practical writing grounded in real experience, not just theory
- Clear disclosure whenever a link is an affiliate relationship (see our Affiliate Disclosure)
- A sincere effort to point you toward legitimate, genuinely useful resources — including free ones that earn this site nothing
What this site isn’t
This isn’t professional counseling, legal, or financial advice, and nothing here should replace a conversation with a qualified professional about your specific situation. Every family is different, and what worked for mine won’t necessarily be the right fit for yours.
